Ticketing by SMS is a solution to purchase a digital ticket from a mobile simply by sending an SMS to a short code. The purchase amount is directly charged on the Orange mobile bill (or debited from the prepaid account)

How it works

The customer starts the purchase by sending a keyword in an MO SMS to a short code
The merchant confirms the payment in an MT SMS, indicating the price
The customer confirms payment and instantly receives their ticket by SMS

Example: purchasing a concert ticket

1 - The customer starts the ticket purchase by sending a keyword
in an MO SMS
to a short code

2 - Orange responds and requests purchase confirmation
by sending an MT SMS
indicating the price
(to which the customer must respond OK)

3 - To confirm the transaction,
the Merchant sends a purchase confirmation MT SMS
including a sequence of numbers,
URL or QR code
to have a hard copy of the ticket

Sign up to Ticketing by SMS

Ticketing by SMS is a mobile payment solution designed to simplify and secure ticket purchases for sporting events and shows. The purchase amount is directly charged on the mobile bill or debited from the prepaid account.

To be able to offer this payment solution, you must complete prior technical integration with Orange and meet certain eligibility criteria

Eligibility conditions for the Ticketing by SMS service :

offer an entertainment service in metropolitan France
have a French-speaking customer service department
sign the Special Terms and Conditions linked to Orange’s Terms of Sale

The service can only be started by submitting a request to af2m (The French Association for the development of Multi-Operator Multimedia Uses and Services) to sign up for a 94xxx multi-operator short cod

If the contract partner is also the Merchant, they must

be authorized to bill Customers (excluding public services)
offer a hard copy option in addition to an SMS ticket purchase

If the contract partner is the technical provider, they must

be authorized and competent with regards to the contract obligations
guarantee that the merchant is not a public service and is authorized to bill customers
